International Task Force on Teachers for Education 2030Promoting and protecting teacher agency in the age of artificial intelligence Position paperAcknowledgementsThis position paper was prepared under the leadership of Carlos Vargas, Head of the Secretariat of the International Task Force on Teachers for Education 2030 (Teacher Task Force). The Teacher Task Force Secretariat is grateful to its members, particularly those in the Digital & AI Thematic Group, for their active engagement in the consultation process. Their contributions via consultation meetings, emails, and an online survey were essential in shaping the paper. The drafting process was led by Mutlu Cukurova, Professor of Learning and Artificial Intelligence, University College London, whose expert oversight in developing the initial draft and integrating members’ feedback ensured the final paper reflected the collective voice of the Teacher Task Force as well as a critical and informed view on the subject matter. Special recognition is extended to Teacher Task Force members MeshGuides and Digital Promise, co-leads of the Digital AI Thematic Group, for their detailed feedback on the draft and their support in helping ensure the paper lives on, linking it to wider themes and concrete insights through workshops and session. Additional thanks go to Norway and EdTech Hub for their valuable inputs. The paper also benefited from contributions by Wouter Van Damme, Education Specialist and Policy Officer at the European Commission; Fatimah Roaiss, Deputy Director General at the Regional Center of Quality and Excellence in Education, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Denis Sinyolo, Director of Education International’s African Regional Office, Ghana; and Marjo Vesalainen, Senior Ministerial Adviser at the Ministry of Education and Culture, Finland. Language editing of the paper was carried out by Andrew Johnston. Within the Teacher Task Force Secretariat, we acknowledge the support of Erin Chemery, Davide Ruscelli, Matthew Thomas, Mara Vos Carrero, Emilia Soto Echeverri, Anna Ruszkiewicz, Jack McNeill, Mirna Eskif, and Héloïse Dumenil.
