At the end of June, inventory on the ground and in transit totaled 2 .8 million units . Inventory dipped in the summer months and ended the year at roughly the same level as in June—2 .8 million units, an increase of 22% year over year . More available inventory meant consumers didn’t have to wait as long to secure a new vehicle as they did during the past several years . Days’ supply varied significantly across brands as the OEMs with the hottest-selling vehicles saw their inventory disappear
