It sets out the latest data on migration from, to and within the region, and examines the integration of migration in development and sectoral policies. It also explores how migration shapes and is shaped by the future of work in the Arab region. Lastly, it presents a set of policy recommendations that can assist member States in capitalizing on the development outcomes of migration and minimizing the possible negative effects.21 Migration trends and patternsA. Interregional migrationEurope has received an increasing number of migrants and refugees from the Arab region during the last decade, reaching 13.8 million migrants.Migrants from Central and Southern Asia make up almost half of migrants coming to the Arab region.Figure 2.
