美国电力和工业部门中的脱碳氢气:确定并激励降低排放的机会(英文)

Decarbonized Hydrogen in the US Power and Industrial SectorsADecarbonized Hydrogen in the US Power and Industrial Sectors: Identifying and Incentivizing Opportunities to Lower EmissionsJay Bartlett and Alan KrupnickReport 20-25 December 2020Decarbonized Hydrogen in the US Power and Industrial SectorsiAbout the AuthorsJay Bartlett is a senior research associate at Resources for the Future, where he works on financial, economic, and policy analysis for the Future of Power Initiative. Alan Krupnick is a senior fellow at Resources for the Future. Krupnick’s research focuses on analyzing environmental and energy issues, in particular, the benefits, costs and design of pollution and energy policies, both in the United States and abroad. He leads RFF’s research on the risks, regulation and economics associated with shale gas development and has turned to research on the development of incentives to industry to reduce GHGs.AcknowledgmentsThis research was supported by a grant from the Cynthia and George Mitchell Foundation and internal funding.Cover photo: ToppyBaker / ShutterstockAbout RFFResources for the Future (RFF) is an independent, nonprofit research institution in Washington, DC. In this report, we consider two methods of decarbonized hydrogen production, so-called blue and green hydrogen, for use in power generation, industrial heating, and as an industrial feedstock in the United States. We find that there is a near-term opportunity in using blue hydrogen to reduce feedstock emissions in oil refining and ammonia manufacturing. For green hydrogen to be competitive, substantial reductions in production and storage cost
