Commentary: 2023 approvals for innovative medical devices have surpassed the total for 2022. In 2022, domestic production of high-end medical equipment made new progress, with a 57.1% increase from 2021 and 55 approvals. From 2014 to 2022, 189 approvals were issued, involving companies from 15 provinces and 2 foreign countries. Key regions, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang, accounted for approximately 82.5% of the approvals. By December 15, 2023, the total number of approvals reached 56, exceeding the previous year's count.
