The US registered a significant dip in cereal output over 2016-2021, yet remained the second largest producer. The decrease derived mainly from shrinking wheat production, owing to falling yields and subsequently a shrinking area harvested. India is a rapidly rising agricultural supplier, expanding its rice, wheat, and sugarcane output and dominating the global cotton lint production.
